PAX (No War) is a concert piece for young band, composed in 2022 at the start of the Ukraine invasion by Russian military. The work is built on a motif which is first presented in a sweet texture representing the peaceful, pre-war Ukraine. This transforms from an epic, war theme, then into a melancholic section to represent the sadness.
The final Maestoso offers a sense of hope, that all this suffering will hopefully, someday, be gone.
